The Sugar Rush Collection is launching at kbshimmer.com on Friday June 16th, 2023. The collection is all about sugary treats be it from a concession stand, a convenience store, or other favorite candy shop. The names and Christy's descriptions were a bit nostalgic for me. I hope you enjoy these as much as I have!
The collection is filled with a mouth-watering mix of juicy colors sure to satisfy your sweet tooth, this nine-piece collection features near neon shimmers, bold color-shifting shades, and never-seen-before vibrant, reflective colors. This collection is the perfect treat for your summer nails.
There are certain foods that divide people; candy corn, cilantro, and black licorice are a few. Christy loves candy corn, but cilantro is a pass for her. Black licorice is also on her must-eat list. Whether it’s a black jellybean, a long licorice rope, or those vibrant pink and white coated licorice bits, those tasty treats make her tummy feel good.
Feeling Good is a boldly colored pink reflective nail polish with purple undertones. Loaded with near neon reflective pigment, this bright magenta shade comes alive in the light, with a daring hot pink/peachy/gold reflective hue that will keep you staring at your nails. Shown in two thin coats topped with Smooth Moves glitter topper and Clearly On Top topcoat for an ultra-smooth finish.
The following photos of Feeling Good were taken with flash. It shows as more of a hot pink shade under the flash.
Fruit-flavored candy can be hit or miss, but one flavor that seems to have a hold on people is peach, especially in those two-toned gummies. Those sugar covered orange and yellow rings have you thinking you’re eating a super sweet peach, not a piece of candy.
You Wanna Peach Of Me is a radiant peach nail polish with an ultra-shifty shimmer. Vivid flashes of gold and orange give way to muted red and pink tones, while copper steals the show at some angles. Holo glow flakes add a metallic sparkle for flashes of holographic twinkle. With coverage in two coats, this shade is perfectly peachy.
Christy thinks that most grandparents’ homes have the same candy dish: round glass with a knobbed lid that was carefully lifted to find a sugary sweet inside. Sometimes it was cellophane-wrapped hard candy; other times it was sugar-coated fruit slices. The latter were Christy's favorite when fresh; the soft slices of sweetness bursting with orange, lemon, lime, cherry, and grape flavors just hit the spot.
Any Way You Slice It nail polish is a bold orange shimmer. This vibrant orange shade twinkles in the light and easily shows off gold and yellow hues. In lower light, a more intense orange shimmer almost hints at a coppery red, while extreme angles may even show a hint of lime. Two coats offer full coverage as shown here.
Sour candy is trending now. Sugary treats are coated with citric acid for a sour mouth-puckering hit before your tongue is rewarded with a sweet sugar rush. While lemon and lime candy can be a bit too tart for some, that initial sour shock to the system seems to be all the kids want.
Pucker Up is a luminous chartreuse neon nail polish. Low lighting brings out the green hue accented by micro holo bits and shimmer that shifts through peach, lemony yellow and gold. Pucker Up is shown here in three coats.
Each year at the fair, one of Christy's favorite places to go was the saltwater taffy booth. It was fascinating to watch big hunks of taffy getting pulled over and over again on the machine. She watched attentively as the dye and flavor were mixed in and was amazed at how quickly a watermelon or green apple piece could hit the bins for her to take home.
Pull It Together nail polish is a vibrant green reflective shade full of sparkle. In lower lighting, the perfect summer green twinkles. In more direct light or flash, a near neon lime green shows off its vibrant hue. Shown in two coats, topped with Smooth Moves glitter topper before finishing with Clearly On Top topcoat for an ultra-smooth finish.

Jellybeans used to be a holiday-only treat, but not anymore. Many gourmet flavors to choose from like margarita, blueberry, buttered popcorn, and even grass if you are so inclined. Mixing flavors might be the best part; you can make yourself a blueberry muffin mix, or berry lemonade just by combining a few tiny beans.
Cool Beans nail polish is a nod to colorful jellybean candies. A blueberry-colored base is loaded with a striking shifty shimmer with a strong green flash. Different lighting and angles bring out teal, gold, blue, and peach. With a slightly larger shimmer particle, this shade offers a subtle sparkle that enhances the jewel tones of the polish. Two coats shown with topcoat. If you can only get one polish from this whole collection, this is THE ONE.
As a kid, putting a diamond shaped ring pop on your finger was a rite of passage. We sucked on the treat for hours pretending it was fancy jewelry, all while our tongues turned shades of blue, purple, and red. Even now, it’s so fun watching little kids enjoy those classic sweet treats like we used to do.
Put A Ring On It is a vibrant, teal-leaning blue nail polish. Glowy holographic flakes dance within the blue base to add a bit of sparkle, while blue and aqua shimmer pops to bring out purple and indigo hues in different lighting and angles. Shown in two coats with topcoat.
There are times when chocolate just will not do when craving a sweet treat. Instead, something a bit tart, yet sweet, is what Christy really craves. That’s when unwrapping a roll of fruit flavored candies is the best move; those tiny pastel candy wafers wrapped in cellophane can really hit the spot.
Such A Smartie is a faded purple polish loaded with color-shifting shimmer and linear holographic sparkle. In lower lighting, a rainbow of hues can be seen, with pink, gold, lime, and blue playing against the lavender background. In bright light, the lime, gold and peach tones pop against the linear holographic rainbow. Shown in two coats with topcoat, but one will cover fairly well.
Grabbing for a purple candy is usually a safe bet for the unadventurous, with grape being a near standard for purple-colored sweets. The sweet flavor based on the Concord grape is one that works well in suckers, hard candies, and chewy, gummy treats. Counting licks to get to the center of a grape sucker is something most of us have tried, though it is hard to resist biting through the crunch to get to the chewy center faster.
That’s Just Grape is a striking indigo nail polish inspired by grape flavored candies. Micro flake-like, color-shifting shimmer amps up the purple hue, while some angles show off flashes of blue and fuchsia. This gleaming, grape-inspired polish is shown in two coats with topcoat.
