Fandom Flakies June: The Good Place

The Fandom Flakies box theme this month is The Good Place and the guest is Fair Maiden!

The box goes on sale 6/14 at 11am Central through 6/21 at 10:59pm. The box includes three limited edition polishes with options to purchase extras: waterslide decals from Ribbits Stickits or a wax melt from BKL (Chili Babies) which smells like chocolate, spice, and all things bakery.



Each polish is shown in two coats with topcoat. The formulas are fantastic for all three!

BKL's Chili Babies
a pale pink polish full of iridescent and multichrome flakes that look like a taupe in low light but sparkle like a rainbow in sunlight.

This is a polish that I might wear in one coat for its translucency, it would give a hint of vnl that way, super femme!






Fair Maiden's Fun Fact: Janet is Me
a deepened purple to magenta-violet-gold shifting multichrome with holo glitters and iridescent flakes that shift pink-red-golden-green.

Night Owl Lacquer's Welcome! Everything is Fine.
a bright green jelly base with blue shimmer, blue crystal flakes, red/gold/green & silver/pink/aqua crystal chameleon flakes.

True to it's name, this jelly is sheer and might make for a fantastic topper over complimentary shades, sponged on for an ombre flake effect or worn alone as I've done.

Polish Pick Up June 2019: Weather Phenomena

The June Polish Pick Up theme is Weather Phenomena! Launch is 6/7 at 10am Central. All of the brands have great offerings this month, and I have some of those to share with you!




Blush Midnight Moonbow
Inspiration: A Moonbow (rainbow that appears at night)
A charcoal navy toned base with a strong orange-gold-green shifting shimmer, linear holo pigment and holo flakes.

Shown is two coats with topcoat and as always, Blush gets a stellar mark from me. Everything about this polish and its packaging is phenomenal.







KBShimmer What Does This Mean?
Inspiration: Photos Christy took of a double rainbow.
A dusty Caribbean blue base loaded with holo glow flakes for a bit of rain-like sparkle. Red-to-green Aurora shimmer adds a colorful twist.

Christy's inspiration was very well executed in this polish! I like that its name is a shout out to Yosemitebear62 and his double rainbow experience video. Shown is two coats with topcoat.







KBShimmer After The Rain Sugar Scrub
Inspiration: Photos Christy took of a double rainbow.
a blend of sweet melons, juicy raspberries, cool lemonade, fresh cracked coconut and raw sugarcane

I like to put a ball of scrub on my hands while they're dry, rub it in for a bit and then rinse with tepid water and lightly pat dry. The oils left behind on my hands absorb in and soften them quite nicely. I call this a 1 minute mani. The scrub itself feels good and smells delicious, definitely reminiscent of summer fruits!







Literary Lacquers Strange Bedfellows
An iridescent flake polish in an aqua crelly base, packed with pink to gold shifting shimmer.
Inspiration: The Tempest

Shown is 2 coats with topcoat. This polish has so much sparkle that it almost looks metallic, but it's definitely a crelly!






Lollipop Posse Hurricane Realness
a slightly purple-tinted, silver-based scattered holographic with a strong pink/purple flash of Aurora pigment, two color ways of shifting iridescent flakes, and accents of purple/gold shifting ultra chameleon chrome flakes.
Inspiration: Hurricane Bianca/Bianca del Rio.

Shown is two coats with topcoat. I love the subtle lavender base, it morphs in varied lighting and keeps ya guessin and just LOOK at the flakes' green shift!







Turtle Tootsie Up In The Clouds
Inspiration: Cloudy day
a periwinkle holo Polish with blue shimmer, silver holo micro glitter, purple/blue chameleon flakies and iridescent flakies.
Cap: 150

I absolutely love the translucency of this polish. It is one of those shades where I'm happy to wear just one coat and wear it sheer. But, here I've shown it with two coats and topcoat.

Blush 3rd Anniversary: Princessa

Blush is turning 3!
For their special day they're releasing a special anniversary polish on May 31st at 6pm Central at blushlacquers.com

Princessa
An off-white blush toned base with a soft pink to gold shifting shimmer and gold flakes.
As usual, the formula is amazing, the brush is amazing, what's not to love here? Shown is two coats with topcoat. If painted thinner, this could be one of those translucent/natural french look type polishes. Love the versatility in this!

Literary Lacquers: A Court of Feels and Sparkle Collection

Literary Lacquers is back with a collection of 7 new polishes (Plus a special limited edition gift with purchase polish) inspired by the Sarah J. Mass series A Court of Thorns and Roses. This collection will take you on a journey through the 7 courts of the High Fae of Prythian. Amy thinks everyone should absolutely read these books, so her descriptions are short to ensure they are spoiler-free!

Each polish is shown in two coats with topcoat. The formula was good on each of them. Some of the heavier glitter finishes were slightly thicker, if you like a more fluid polish just add a few drops of thinner.


Veiled in Roses – Rosy pink packed with holographic and opalescent microglitter
Inspired by the Spring Court’s beautiful manor house, an alabaster estate covered in roses and ivy, surrounded by meadows and forests in a perpetual springtime.






Adriata – Aqua opal, this polish is loaded with blue, green, and white opalescent flakies and microglitter
The Summer Court is home to the beautiful city of Adriata nestled in its half moon bay.






Autumn Fire – Deep coppery red holo with microglitter
Fire is the power of the High Fae that reside in the Autumn Court.






High Lady of Winter – Soft grey holo with white, silver, and blue flakies
This polish, inspired by the frozen Winter Court, is a little shout out to the fandom and Vivianne, may her voice be heard






Sunstone Palace – Delicate metallic that shifts from copper to rose
The books’ action only visits the Dawn court for a short period of time, but the description of the breathtaking palace inspired this lacquer

I think this polish has a few large flakes in it, as I can see that sort of shape on a few nails.






Cursebreaker – Bright white gold metallic with a subtle green iridescence
The mysterious Day Court is home to Helion Spell-Cleaver, his power of Cursebreaking is vital to something we can’t tell you about because it’s a spoiler.






Court of Dreams – Black base with holo microflakes, silver flakes, and shimmer that shifts from blue through indigo to violet
The Night Court is home to the mysterious and dark Rhysand and his Illyrian warriors (ahem).

Deep navy holo with microglitter and opalescent green flakes
Amy really wanted to call this polish My Other Ride is an Illyrian Warrior, but she decided to go with the more sedate Starfall. Starfall is a holiday celebrated in the Winter Court on a night where star spirits migrate across the sky.

My favorites of this collection are Autumn Fire and the LE, Starfall. Starfall has a very similar finish as her Rebecca trio from 2014.
