Girly Bits Bridal Bliss: Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue

Girly Bits released the six piece Bridal Bliss collection of pastel creams this summer and in it is Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue a pastel sky cream. Pam describes it as a soft blue.

The formula was creamy and nearly opaque in one coat, shown is two.




I tried out an idea I had by layering a stamp that had a stair step like edge on it. I think I need a bit more practice, but I love the effect!
For this I used Girly Bits Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue as base and as a stamp, Girly Bits Denim and Diamonds, and MDU Blue Gray. The plate is xy-z28 from Aliexpress.

Bee's Knees 1/1 Release

Unicorn pee, flake, aurora, these polishes by Bee's Knees have it all! Choose a fave or get them all - they launch on 1/1/2019 at Bee's Knees online webshop. Not only is the bottle new, the logo is new and the brush inside is new. The brush is fantastic, as mentioned in my other review.




-Tahoe Tessie is Terrifying-an aqua polish with OG UP and ghost flakes, the larger flakes that shift the same color as OG UP

I love a nice clean looking aqua shade, and this one has a squishyness to it, don't ya think?

-Jersey Devil Totes Ma Goats-a grape based polish with indigo sibling UP and iridescent flakes that shift pink to orange and green to purple.

Purple flake? Yes please!

-Mothman is Lit-a black based polish with red to green Aurora shimmer and iridescent flakes that shift from orange to red to purple.

So mysterious and vampy!
Shown in two coats with topcoat. However, one coat was fairly opaque and could do in a pinch.







-Monarch Butterfly Wing-a bright orange polish with green to blue sibling UP

Most vibrant orange jelly! This could totally be used in a pond mani, or as a topper over your favorite cream in the same color family. Join the BKL fan group and see how those look!

Showing the red shift here - in this base it appears pink! How cool is that?




Hail Satin! top coat is also new to the hive for January. I love how it has a satin style finish. Below is each of the above shades topped with this new topcoat!

Both of these polishes are 5 Free, cruelty free, and vegan. I found the formulas to be smooth with very nice application and self leveling. Both polishes are shown in two coats, with KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat.

Girly Bits: Peach, Love, and Joy

Girly Bits released the six piece Bridal Bliss collection of pastel creams this summer and in it is Peach, Love, and Joy, a pastel peachy cream. Pam describes it as a warm toned peachy pink.

I wore two coats for photos. The formula is quite creamy and opaque. If you're heavy handed this could be a one coater. It also stamps well over any shade, but looks best over lighter colors.




I was inspired to do some mermaid nail art and this is what I actually wore for Christmas! Using the Lollipop Posse PPU flake, I added a gradient tip. To stamp over, I chose a mermaid scale pattern with Hit the Bottle in Champagne Shifter. Then I added a few jewels and caviar beads for the accent nail.

January 2019 Polish Pick Up: Mythology

The January Polish Pick Up theme is Mythology! Launch is 1/4 at 10am Central. All of the brands have outdone themselves this month, and I have six of those shades to share with you!




1850 Artisan Orion's Belt
Denim blue base with copper shimmer, linear holo, holo microflakes, and a variety of aurora shimmers.
Inspired by the beautiful night sky depiction of Orion the Hunter.

This is 1850 Artisan's very first polish pick up and Nikki has made a stunning shade!
Two coats shown with topcoat, formula was good and application was like butter.






I couldn't help but stamp some stars on!




77 Lacquer The Goddess of Death
a medium toned nude base with copper and red shimmer, copper, pink and violet sparks, pink iridescent shifting Flakies and grey iridescent Flakies.

Do you remember the Mannequin hands trend? This is my perfect shade for that, but kicked up a notch with shimmer and flake!

Bee's Knees The Haetae
Inspiration: Sarah grew up listening to stories from her grandmother that involved the haetae, so this mythical creature has always held a special place in her heart. What's not to love about a unicorn/lion/dragon hybrid creature that's a symbol of protection?
Description: A silver linear holo polish with an icy blue to purple shimmer, holo flakes, and iridescent flakes that shift teal to purple.
Cap: none

The new packaging is very nice, loving the logo redesign and screen printed bottles but the best part is the new brush. Oh yes, this is the same brush that I rave about every chance I get. Now there are two indie brands with it! Time to celebrate!

KBShimmer Gaia
Inspired by the bright colored depictions of Gaia.
A vibrant blue jelly base filled with holographic glitters and color shifting unicorn flakes in shades of green, purple, pink and blue.

I love how bright the base is!
Shown is two coats with topcoat, formula was good, application was surprisingly smooth for how much glitter is in it.









Lollipop Posse Those Who Were Neither
soft, milky red jelly filled with chrome and iridescent flakes in various color shifts, as well as holographic silver flakies, red/green Aurora pigment, and scattered holographic pigment

Wow! Such a sparkly and beautifully done polish. Don't miss it!

Turtle Tootsie Pegasus
A dark indigo jelly base with holo micro glitter and purple to blue chameleon flakies as well as fantasy flakies

I love a good grapey purple with sparkle! It also works well for a pond mani and makes a great base for unicorn pee.
