Addicted to Holos: June box
The Addicted to Holos box for June has arrived and I'm excited to share the polishes with you before their upcoming launch!
Literary Lacquer's Salt & Sweetness is a very rich shade of teal with blue flakes and liner holographic pigment. The richness and variation of color reminds me of time I spent snorkeling in the oceans off the coast of Hawaii. The formula for this polish is perfection as usual, and opaque in two coats.
Sweet Heart Polish made the palest blue holo called Summer Breeze which I think describes the color of this polish perfectly. The holographic finish is very strong in full sun, and I was still able to capture it under studio lighting. I wore two coats with topcoat and the formula was excellent.
June Bug is a creamy orange-ish shade with subtle holo shimmer made by Philly Loves Lacquer. I found the formula to be thick, but I was able to apply it in two thin coats. You may get away with one heavier coat, as this one is quite pigmented!
Love Potion from The Polish Bar is a strong holographic flirty shade of pink and it even has tiny holo glitters in it for an extra bit of sparkle. Perfect for hot summer days and quite eye catching! I wore two easy coats with topcoat for the photos.
Blue-Eyed Girl brings us Bikinis & Flip Flops, a great medium purple holo shimmer polish which has a matte finish! I snapped a photo of that first and then topcoated to really show off the shimmer. The formula was really smooth and easy to apply, no dragging or pulling the way some mattes are.

With topcoat
Are you excited about this upcoming box? I sure am! I really enjoyed the palette of colors, the perfect combination for summer. I think that these would also be great to use for nail art as well since there's a good contrast between these shades.
The Addicted to Holos box will be available for pre-order 6/8 - 6/15 at http://addictedtoholos.bigcartel.com/. See ya there!

Butter London: Fruit Machine
Confession time...
I tend to swatch a lot of polish that I've purchased, but I don't always get around to publishing a review for them.
Butter London Fruit Machine is one of those! I swatched this in June 2013 and I remember using two coats with top coat in between each coat because the formula was difficult to work with. It seemed thick and dried fast during application so I had some patchy spots. I learned that by putting top coat over the first layer then doing another layer, it seemed to smooth things out for a nicer finish. This shade of pink reminds me of childhood ice creams like rainbow sherbet! Perfect for a hot summer day!
I hope you have enjoyed this little blast from the past!
What is your favorite polish shade to wear for summer time?

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer: Teenage Bedroom
Teenage Bedroom is a sun kissed violet based polish with a vibrant linear holographic rainbow! Dave from Ocotopus Party Nail Lacquer told me about the inspiration for the polish, and I must say it is quite well thought out and well, I got a bit nostalgic while reading his description.
I wore two coats and topcoat for the photos below. The formula was perfectly smooth and easy to apply, very little cleanup needed.
Afterward, I did some Octopus inspired stamping over it with XL plate U and MDU #14 stamping polish. I used a super squishy marshmallow stamper from Chelle Lee.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing this pretty purple polish! The entire summer collection consists of eight different polishes. Other bloggers will be posting those from now until launch, so keep a look out for them!
You can get this polish and other beauties on May 30th at noon central on the OPNL shop!
I wanted to create a collection that was loud and vibrant, so things like tropical paradises, heat waves, guns, Barbie dolls, and gemstones all made it into the mix. Teenage bedroom is sort of an ode to youth. Teenagers spend a lot of formative hours in their rooms dreaming of the future, mulling over the past, obsessing over music, crushes, movies, food, friends, and nail polish. Their room acts sort of as both a catalyst and a sanctuary at that time in life. The color is a warmer toned purple to lend itself both to the summer season and the safety and urgency of such a sacred place in our lives.

L'oreal: Masked Affair
I lusted for this polish and hunted high and low but never saw it in my local stores. Thank goodness for fairy angels like Connie, who snagged the last bottle for me at her local store!
She travels to my city twice a year and we meet up each time. Our most recent meet up was on Mother's Day weekend and she brought this beauty to me! Wasn't that sweet?
I was so excited to have it in my hands and finally get to try it out! And ya'll..... Words just cannot express how impressed I am with this polish!
The base color is a very pale smokey lavender, difficult to see on camera but it's there and so beautiful! Next is the holographic effect. This is probably considered scattered, but I could definitely see a rainbow bend when the light hits it, not as pronounced as something like Chanel Holographic, but very beautiful. When I hit this polish with the LED on my cell phone, it had the depth of an opal or perhaps real pearls. So shimmery and colorful and just...wow guys!
I wore two coats with topcoat for the photos, but really I could not capture it's beauty as seen in person.
If you have the chance to get Masked Affair, you'll be glad you did!

Barielle: Pillow Talk
I won this beautiful peachy nude polish in a giveaway a long time ago over at The Traceface Philes blog. It was in a set of several nude colored polishes which are all really pretty! The formula on these is fantastically smooth and creamy, like melty butter. I wore two coats with topcoat for the photos.

Neon Rainbow Water Marble Nail Art
I bought the A Night in Vegas neons from Pipe Dream Polish in October of last year and finally had an opportunity to use them to do a water marble. I chose a rainbow design and learned how to do it from a video by Yagala on Youtube. She gave some really great tips and her technique is great!
I have worn these since Friday and don't plan to remove them until I absolutely have to. I'm in love!
This is the second water marble I have ever done and I have to say I'm proud of it! Will you try water marbling?

b.i.t.c.h. by jaclyn: May Flowers collection
b.i.t.c.h. by jaclyn is back with a May Flowers collection for you! This set of six floral shades are the perfect summer treat for your nails.
I wore two coats of each polish with a topcoat, the formula was good on these, no issues to report.
Fertilize Her is a juicy bright peachy shade with subtle holo, great for summertime!
Tulips Are Better Than One is a true shade of coral with subtle holo.
De-Flowered is a bright red orange with subtle holo.
Garden Hoe is the sassy hot raspberry fuchsia magenta pink we've all come to expect and love from jaclyn's line, only this one is metallic and holo! It's my favorite from this set. I also tested stamping with it because it seemed pretty opaque. Stamped over white, it's a pretty rosy shade but over black the color was not apparent.
Grower Not A Shower is a pretty oceanic blue with a linear holo effect.
Just a Fling is a fun shade of purple with subtle holo.
May Flowers is a pretty glitter topper packed with iridescent blue to purple glitter, yellow to green glitter, and two sizes of flower shaped glitter.
The May Flowers collection launches on May 5 at 8pm Central time at http://www.bitchbyjaclyn.com/.
