I thought it would be neat to share a bit of nostalgia and where my swatch photos
It was 2009, and I had just gotten the coolest new slider phone with a -gasp- camera built in! So I did my nails and when I finished I decided to take a photo of them. I had seen a few people on flickr doing this and I thought it was neat! Because I had a cable to connect the phone to my pc -omg awesome feature!- I decided to pull the photo off the phone and upload it to my flickr account. See, I had flickr, a blog on other topics, and a (now defunct) LJ. I decided to use Flickr for this and uploaded the photo there first. I got a few comments on the photo!
I was excited, and the whole thing felt great to me! The phone, the camera on it, being able to put it ONLINE OMG. So - here's that photo in its original state. No watermark, hopefully no one will want to take it from my page. :)
Fast forward to tonight, when I spotted that bottle again. I have not worn Pink Ice since then, and it still applies like a dream.
Pink Ice is a soft pastel pink full of iridescent shimmer. Its sheer enough that it might make a great topper for a pink or white cream polish as well. I used four coats and some VNL is still visible because of the bright lighting, but its ok 'cause it's getting used for undies and sometimes vnl can be a little sexy, amirite?
I hope you've enjoyed this little bit of nostalgia with me - and I'd love for you to share yours with me via inlinkz or comments. The inlinkz is open to the end of November. :)

Love everything about this <3!
ReplyDeleteMuch love Lori! <3
DeleteThats a pretty shade of pink. My first photo is awful. I didnt realize at the time how important clean up was or that dry cracked cuticles are amplyfied in pictures. Thankfully my skills have grown over the last year and I no longer get polish all over the place.
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are gorgeous! I read your from Jan '12 and I loved it!
DeleteSo was it the stamping plates or the marble mani that was the "DO ALL THE MANIS" turning point?
The stamping mani was the one that first peeked my interest and the marble mani that made me really jump on this crazy adventure of blogging and trying "ALL THE MANIS"! And thank you =) Photographing my nails has got to be one of the hardest parts of all this.
DeleteAwesome! Marbling is soooo pretty! I tried it once, I need to try again. :)
DeleteAw I love remembering this kind of stuff :) I remember I started a Blogger and posted about CG For Audrey, no base or top coat, lol. I decided to change my blog name and made a new account, so the original blog/post is still there haha! Maybe I should make a post about it too!
ReplyDeleteoh you totally should!! I was thinking about doing an inlinkz and inviting everyone to add their link. Lets do this!! I'll create the inlink and email you the code if I can find your addy. :D
DeleteActually, I was able to put a link to the code in the entry just above the inlinkz. I noticed though that they do not offer the thumbnail veiw any longer unless the inlinkz is paid for. Feel free to add your link and display the code at your blog!
DeleteGreat idea. You are full of fun & great ideas. Does it have to be the very first pic to participate? I've wanted to revisit another color but must check with you first :)
ReplyDeleteAny of your first few would be awesome. :) Just something to look back on and feel a sense of nostalgia or story that can be shared with others. I think this is so fun seeing these and hearing the stories! :D Thanks becacine!
DeleteI love this post :]
ReplyDeleteAw thank you! <3
DeleteI love " going back" posts! I'll have to find my first photos, way before I started blogging. They were horrendous! I didn't know about clean up or the macro setting on my camera! :P
ReplyDeleteoo fun! Can't wait to see and read your story!
DeleteWild! I'm going to have to do this, even though I don't have a blog.
ReplyDeleteTotally do! If you have a fb account, feel free to post your photos at my page too. :) I'd love to see them!
