Today I'm sharing a few polishes from The Polish Bar, a shop that I had not tried before.
Janice sent three polishes of her choosing to me for free and I was so surprised when they arrived. Each of them are different styles of glitter polish which she makes very well.
(I'm using her descriptions (italicized below) for each polish.)
Better Things has ultrafine light green, baby blue, purple hex glitters, and a dash of purple-green iridescent glitters in a clear base.
The formula is surprisingly smooth and very easy to apply. I wore two coats of Better Things over one coat of Revlon Hazy.
Look at that shifting shimmer!
By Starlight is a major glitter bomb! It has rainbow hex glitters, bar glitters, silver stars and many, many other glitters in a clear base.
I didn't dig around or fish and ended up with two holo stars, so there's a 50/50 chance of getting one!
I used two coats over Color Club's I Believe in Amour.
Party Dress has hot pink microflakies, pink holo hex glitters and fuchsia dot glitters in a sheer black jelly base.
I wore two coats of Party Dress over Love and Beauty's Magenta. Again, this polish was easy to apply and fairly smooth to the touch.
Look at the shimmer in there! It looks like it has holo shimmer particles in it, even though its not in the description. The polish leans a little more magenta than my photo shows. I couldn't color correct because it turned the purple shimmer blue. Its less red, and a much richer magenta than what my photo can show. Party Dress is really gorgeous and my favorite of the three.
All three have great formulas and are so much fun to paint with! You can get yours at The Polish Bar's Etsy Shop and check Polish Bar news and updates at their Facebook page.

More Love Triangles with Urban Lacquer
I was just looking at my previous blog entry and realized that I left out a couple of swatches. So a few minutes ago, I redid my nails to get this shot.
The Wife on top of the Husband (one coat each) with an accent of The Mistress jelly sandwiched between the Husband and the Wife. Now the triangle is complete!
I really love how the Wife makes the Mistress blush!
(one coat of each for the accent nail)
These launch in about 20 minutes at the Urban Lacquer Etsy Shop.

Urban Lacquer: Love Triangle
Urban Lacquer's Valentine's Day collection is quite a clever creation. Brenda kept it a secret from me until I unboxed the polish. Little did I know it'd be this steamy! It's not the typical hearts and flowers set, no sireee!
The Love Triangle
The set is comprised of three polishes, The Husband, The Wife, and -gasp!- The Mistress. Oooooo...
The Husband is a handsome feller, don't ya think?
Deep rich mahogany hair...
Sparkling blue eyes.. -wistful sigh-
The Wife is quite refined.
She sips deep raspberry colored wine that's almost jelly-like and shimmers in the moonlight...
Little does The Wife know that The Husband has a secret...
Oh yes, this is The Mistress atop the Husband! -gasp!-
So playful together, enjoying every moment of it!
Does anyone dare tell The Wife about this?
...or would The Wife care?
It appears that The Wife has a Mistress too!! -shock!-
She wears a seductive laced up corset with hearts on the front!
The Mistress is a sexy woman, sparkling in all the right ways. Her eyes are bewitchingly holographic, hair like silk, gold and silver jewels adorning her pink and red lingerie. Who dares resist her?
How do we choose? Or do we tell? We have until Thursday to decide!
If you missed out on Brilieve, now is your chance to get a bottle! 25 bottles of Brilieve will be stocked along with the V-day launch tomorrow.
The Valentine's Day collection will be available Thursday, January 24th, at 8pm CST.
If you purchase the set of three, you'll receive a small jar of pink and red holographic hearts for your nails! (examples in above photos on accent nail)

Whimsical Valentine
Last night, Pam released her Valentine's collection for her line Whimsical Ideas by Pam.
First is Eloise, a pink and white matte glitter in a clear base with huge black circle glitter.
I wore two coats over Revlon Hazy
I go ga ga for pink and grey combos and this one is such a pretty glitter topper! Feminine yet edgy at the same time. I didn't have to dig around or fish for those big circles at all. What you see is what I got painting as I usually do with any polish.
Next is In the Whole Wide World, a very delicate topper with satin pink hearts, mint hexes, and iridescent shimmer.
I wore two coats over Revlon Gum Drop
A very pale lavender polish. I think they go well together! I wanted to do a grey jelly sammich with it but Pam's idea was for it to look like an old fashioned Victorian valentine; so instead of the grey I chose a soft feminine color. I think this would look pretty rockin over a dark color too, like black, navy or dark purple and of course, grey.
Not only did Pam's nephew name this next polish but he also created a label for it. I urged Pam to use his label and eventually persuaded her to do a limited run with them. She sent me label #2 which was really sweet! My bottle also has the regular label on the back of it! We put it on there for the bottle shot line up since the special labels were limited.
I wore 2 coats of Sparkly Markaly (look at those circle glitters!!) over 1 coat of Nanacoco's Irresistible Charm
Persian Violets has to be one of my favorites in this line up, any guesses why?
Purple of course! The glitter is pretty dense in this one and includes three different shades and shapes of purple glitter as well as a subtle shimmer.
I wore two coats of Persian Violets over a mini polish I picked up at Hot Topic a few years ago, it doesn't have a name on it though.
I got several compliments on Persian Violets from several coworkers and random strangers!
Falingo contains a lot of pink and white satin glitter and sort of corally pink matte glitters in different shapes.
I wore three coats over Revlon Powder Puff. Falingo was a little difficult to photograph but its really a very pretty polish in person. Pam told me that her sister used to call flamingos falingos, so it's a little inside joke that she's now shared with the rest of the world!
And one more bonus photo because I love pink and grey together:
You can order your Whimsies by sending an email to Pam at pea422000@yahoo.com and be sure to stop by her facebook page over the next week or so for more customer swatches and to view her whole line.

Vivid Lacquer: The Evil Collection of Evil
Anni at Vivid Lacquer is quite the fan of Dr. Horrible's sing-a-long blog so it just made sense that her Valentine collection was inspired by it. I was so excited she asked me to review it, and when the polishes arrived I was wowed. They are creatively unique, beautiful, and consistently have great formulas. The color range is so varied that there is something here for everyone. Plus, her jellies are perfection!
A Real, Audible Connection is a multicolored heart glitter polish in a clear base. I wore two coats over Revlon Hazy. The heart glitter leapt up on the brush with every dip, no fishing!
I didn't do any special placement here - the hearts fell where they wanted to.
I like that circle of hearts on my middle finger - crazy random happenstance perhaps?
You Are NOT My Nemesis has a clear base with turquoise diamond and hex glitter, white satin flakes and hexes and tiny blue sparks of shimmer. I wore two coats over OPI's What's With The Cattitude? I like how delicate it looks, yet still edgy when layered over a light colored base.
Look at the teeny blue shimmahz!
This squishy pink jelly is named We Do The Weird Stuff. Its packed with glitters in beautiful colors; sapphire blue hex, gold circles, red hex and some black hex. The vibrant pink tint of the jelly really makes those sapphire blue glitters pop! I wore two coats over WnW Through The Grapevine and it was a very close color match.
Just look how glowy the blue glitters look!
Crazy Random Happenstance looks like orange juice on the nail! So squishy and juicy, that I had to have a glass of OJ afterward! The polish contains shreds in many colors and they all laid fairly flat on my nail. I used three coats over OPI's Don't Pretzel My Buttons and topped it with a coat of Seche Vite. To show all the different colors and to try and capture just how juicy this polish is, I took several photos at different angles.
It even has black shreds! -squish-
A Shiny New Australia really caught my eye with its vibrant lime base and kelly green circle glitters. It also has a ton of shimmer, small lime green hexes and perhaps some flakies in the mix!
If my name were to appear in neon lights somewhere, I'd want it to be this shade of green. I used two coats of SNA over WnW Fergie's Glowstick.
Shimmah! Shimmah!
Layered Like Pie is one of few indie glitter polishes I've seen that use a neutral base color with glitter. I am liking these shades so much that I've been building my stash with nude colored polishes to use as undies for them! Although, this one didn't need any, this is three coats on its own. Its opaque in two, but for some reason the sides of my nails always end up with thinner coats than what is in the middle of the nail. (totally my own issue, not the polish's) So I added one more coat to even it out. Red, blue and brown glitters mix to make what looks like a berry pie. Want a bite?
Evil League of Evil is the other polish in this collection that got my attention as soon as I saw the bottle because its purple, of course. Its not just any purple though, look closely and you'll see that it is made up of teeeeeeeny tiny purple particles which, I think, is what gives most of its color. Square glitters in sapphire blue, purple and black are sprinkled in along with fiery sparkly micro glitter. What a beautifully unique color! And the name, I love it! I wore three coats of this one all on its own.
It has quite a bit of depth and looks different shades at different angles!
The Evil Collection of Evil set will be available January 18th at 2pm PST / 3pm MST / 4pm CST / 5pm EST at the Vivid Lacquer Etsy shop.
And lastly, she was kind enough to send a photo of a plate in progress. She is quite a tease, but I like what I see so far!
Hop on over to Facebook so you can be in the know with Vivid Lacquer's updates! :)
